Preschool Story Hour Information

story time2Our preschool story hour has gone through some changes this year! If you have a little one, please review the following to see if they are eligible to attend! Young ones must be signed up IN ADVANCE to attend. If you miss the sign ups for the current session, you can catch us for the next 6 six week session.

Preschool story hour meets on Tuesday mornings from 11:00 to noon.  The class is taught by Mrs. Candice Skinner.  Candice graduated from both Piqua High School and Upper Valley JVS-Early Childhood with honors. She has worked at a daycare with preschoolers for 6 years, attending many hours training including an early learning literacy course, preschool and toddler module overviews plus many others.  Candice has been doing story hour at our library for the past 5 years.  She has been teaching the pre-k through third graders at her church for the several years. We are thrilled to have Candice part of our library staff.

Bradford Public Library has identified that a need exists to assist area families and schools by providing an environment and developmental experiences which promote growth and learning.  This approach will help ensure that children entering school are eager and excited to learn. The areas that children will be exposed to during Preschool Story Time are:

  • Different approaches to learning
  • Health and physical well-being
  • Language and communication development
  • Social and emotional development
  • Cognitive and general knowledge

The criteria for each six-week Preschool StoryTime is that every child must be three years of age through children who have not yet attended Kindergarten.  Parents are encouraged to be an active participant, if possible.  There will be a separate location for younger children and mothers with babies. Sign-ups are necessary for this type of developmental program in order to purchase and prepare an appropriate number supplies.  Contact Bradford Public Library at 937-448-2612 for further information or stop in and sign-up your preschooler!
